Mike is a Principal and Director of Marketing for Brown Smith Wallace. In this position, he is responsible for developing and implementing marketing, content and digital strategy, business development integration and recruiting support, branding, advertising, public relations, marketing communications, video marketing and research.
He has more than 30 years of experience as a marketing executive for professional service firms such as Accume Partners, Coopers & Lybrand, Deloitte & Touche and Price Waterhouse.
Mike also has 10 years experience as principal of a marketing consulting firm, where he served clients such as Arthur Andersen, Korn/Ferry International, SRC Corporation and a number of top 100 law firms.
He has authored articles for the Association for Accounting Marketing (AAM)’s Growth Strategies Journal and CPA Practice Management Forum and guest blogged for Chief Outsiders on topics such as marketing and business development integration, client marketing, digital marketing and predictive analytics in accounting marketing
Mike has been interviewed on the Accounting Today, BBR Marketing, CPA Trendlines, iShade and Marketri blogs regarding Kyle’s CPA Video Blog, marketing planning and practice growth. He has been quoted in Accounting Today, CPA Practice Advisor and Growth Strategies Journal, and profiled in AAM Minute, in June 2013 and October 2015.
He is a former member of AAM’s Board of Directors, where he was the innovation lead, founded AAM’s business development community and was a member of AAM’s Environmental Scanning Council. He is a current member of AAM’s business development committee and a former member of its growth strategies committee. He also serves on the steering committee for the Moore Stephen’s marketing special interest group.
Mike earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Lyon College in Arkansas. He received his master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University.
