Lisa Benson is Business Development Manager at Brown Smith Wallace. In this role, she is primarily responsible for managing business development processes for the firm as well as individual practices and leveraging marketing initiatives to generate leads. Lisa’s diverse business development background includes financial management, brand development, strategic partnerships and alliances, customer relationship management and strategic planning.
Lisa has more than 20 years of experience attracting and retaining customers and clients, increasing revenues and building brands. Prior to joining Brown Smith Wallace, Lisa was the COO of The Advisory Board, a think tank to the accounting profession that provides innovative practice management events and content.
Her previous experience also includes being a partner at The Growth Partnership for 11 years. Lisa’s experience on both sides of the table – promoting CPA firms as well as making professional services buying decisions – gave her a unique ability to lead the strategy and operations of the Business Development Services division, provide outsourced business development services to accounting firms across North America and be responsible for organizational growth.
Lisa attended The Partner Institute Leadership Program, a comprehensive three-year leadership program. She is a founding member of The CPA Consultants’ Alliance, a working group of thought leaders united in their efforts to further leadership within the CPA profession. She is also a past executive committee member of the St. Louis Rowing Club.
