Dan is a Principal in the Transaction Advisory and Litigation Support practice at Brown Smith Wallace. His approach to client service allows him to forge solid, mutually respectful relationships with clients, ultimately increasing the efficiency on both sides of the table.
As a part of this group, Dan assists clients through mergers and acquisitions by leading due diligence and quality of earnings engagements, and assisting clients in purchase price negotiations, as well as post-closing working capital and opening balance sheet procedures. Dan also performs business valuations, fraud and forensic accounting, and litigation support engagements for clients in various industries.
Dan previously worked as a Manager in the Brown Smith Wallace Audit Services practice. This experience made him a great fit for the Transaction Advisory and Litigation Support team.
While working in the Audit Services Practice, Dan was responsible for supervising audit and accounting engagements and for training staff. Dan worked on several client engagements in the manufacturing, software and distribution industries. He has experience performing due diligence on acquisitions with several of our largest clients.
Dan led the audits of several consolidated organizations with multiple subsidiaries that have gone through significant acquisitions, divestitures, stock compensation plan implementations and systems conversions. He is a resident expert on the accounting for and auditing of business combinations.
Dan is a licensed CPA, a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA). He earned a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Illinois College.
