Aaron is a Partner in the Brown Smith Wallace Insurance Advisory Services practice and serves our clients’ audit and advisory needs. Aaron has more than 12 years of progressive experience, working closely with clients in the heavily regulated insurance industry. Prior to joining the firm, Aaron was with a Big 4 firm primarily serving the insurance industry.
Aaron is responsible for serving insurers and captive insurers that write fidelity, personal, commercial lines, workers compensation, medical, life insurance, professional liability coverage, and reinsurance of the above lines of business.
Aaron specializes in auditing regulated entities and evaluating the design and effectiveness of internal controls. Aaron has worked with a number of regulated entities performing audits under U.S. GAAP and Statutory Basis of Accounting. Aaron has extensive experience in reviewing complex contracts for regulatory purposes, as well as auditing controls in accordance with Public Company Accounting Oversight (“PCAOB”) standards. Aaron has a strong background in data analysis, specifically the use of ACL and other software, which is used to tailor audits for efficiency and effectiveness. Aaron regularly teaches courses regarding technology and data analysis both within the firm and externally.
Aaron is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Aaron is also a Vice President of the St. Louis Chapter of the Insurance Accounting and Systems Association (“IASA”).
Aaron is a licensed CPA and a graduate of Truman State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Masters of Accountancy.
